Design

Your brewery should not be a standard cookie-cutter system sold to the masses, produced for the least common denominator, and based on a “standard” beer. You make unique beer, you should have a unique brewery. We start with your beer and how you make it, and then design the system around your unique process. As well as brewery design, we offer comprehensive analysis for malt mills, packaging equipment, boilers, water purification systems and other ancillary equipment. We also provide electrical distribution layout, control system design, steam and water piping diagrams, material handling flowsheets, and other technical information necessary to get your brewery producing great beer quickly, efficiently, and at a reasonable cost.

Different locations demand different solutions. If you have unique challenges, we can help. We’ve experience with all types of electrical power issues, water quality issues, siting and land use, importation, and a raft of other complications that require innovative solutions.

Installation

You will have big money tied up in capital that is worthless to you until your brewery is operating the way you want. Regardless of what the manufacturers say, there is no “turnkey” brewery that you can start with a flip of the switch. Breweries are complex, and there are always issues that require inventive solutions. We can quickly assess your particular situation and devise a plan for critical path work. We take pride in efficient project management. We will coordinate plumbers, electricians, steamfitters, and general laborers with concise instructions for quickest completion, done safely.

Once installed and commissioned, we move on to cleaning and calibration, water brew, initial pilot brew, and basic Standard Operating Procedures for Critical Control Points. There’s no rest until you’re operating smoothly.

Recipes

Specializing in ‘Beyond the Pale’. It’s true that Pale Ales represent the most sales in the US, however most aspiring commercial brewers seem to have their own interpretations fairly well developed. We can offer scaling from homebrew recipe to commercial size batches with very accurate results—or we can offer complete ‘from scratch’ recipes for your distinctive style.
Where we really shine is the use of alternate mashing schedules and local flavors to achieve truly exceptional beers. Whether using adjuncts such as wheat, tapioca, taro, rice, sorghum, or other native starches in double-mash, cereal mash, upward infusion, decoction, or other unusual schedules; or flavoring with local spices, herbs, flowers, and fruit—this can be cutting-edge brewing resulting in world-class beers that stand out from the competition.

Appraisals

It’s a sellers’ market out there these days. Used equipment is hard to find. A good deal is even harder to find. We have access to used equipment markets world-wide and can find used equipment others cannot. Your interests are best served by having boots on the ground to ascertain the equipment’s capabilities and condition. A well thought-out purchase also has us participating in disassembly, inventory, and crating for shipment to ensure that your investment is well cared for and may be reassembled easily.

Audits

Breweries are complex systems that require extensive operations and maintenance procedures and expertise. An operations and maintenance audit report from an independent source assures the brewery owner that their equipment and personnel investments are maximized. Audits frequently show operational savings and maintenance shortcomings that can be changed before major damage and downtime occurs. Being proactive is much cheaper than being reactive. In short, Audits are an effective tool to keep the dog wagging the tail at maximum profitability.
